The materials

925 silver

925 silver or sterling silver is an alloy made of fine silver and copper composed of 925 parts of fine silver and 75 parts of copper. 925 silver is a material that oxidizes and tarnishes over time when not worn or properly cared for. Read the section carefully « How to take care of your jewelry? » so you know how to properly care for your jewelry.

Oxidized silver

Oxidized silver is identical to 925 silver in its composition, but it has undergone a surface treatment. Following its manufacturing and finishing, the jewelry is dipped in a sulfur oxide solution to blacken it. Since silver is only oxidized on the surface, it is more susceptible to friction and scratches. Over time, your jewelry made from oxidized silver will develop a patina, shine and fade slightly. It could therefore lose its oxidized finish in places, particularly on flat surfaces and edges. The jewel will then take on a new color, a new identity specific to the person who wears it.

Brass

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. There are different types of brass, but the one used in jewelry is made up of 95% copper and 5% zinc. Some people react to contact with brass and may have green marks where the jewelry has been in prolonged contact with the skin. Rest assured, all earring posts and hooks are made of 925 silver.

The pearls

The pearls that I use are carefully chosen one by one by a Quebec gemologist, a pearl specialist. These natural pearls, which are grown in fresh or salt water, come from China, Tahiti, Japan and the South Seas. Know that pearls are the only type of gem that is 100% renewable.
