The women of Chiapas have been weaving since the dawn of time, as a sacred duty, and the patterns they weave bring the Mayan world to life. In the textiles of this region, the concept of time, space and the mythological forces of nature are intertwined.

Embroidery designs generally take four main forms:
diamonds, which symbolize the unity between earth and sky;
the wavy shapes, which symbolize fertile land;
the shapes with three vertical lines, which symbolize the founding of the world, the community and its history;
And finally, butterflies, symbol of the sun which is at the center of the Mayan universe.

With these few explanations, I hope that you will in turn be able to decode the beauty of these embroideries and that you will want to obtain one of the three unique pouches that I brought back from my trip.

Large pouch (purple tones):

This piece of jewelry will be sent to you by Canada Post in packaging specially designed to protect the piece during transport. You can see the packaging in one of the photos featuring the piece. Additionally, you will receive a jewelry care card, a small polishing cloth to keep your jewelry sparkling at all times, as well as a card describing the collection.

Please allow 5 business days from the date of purchase for your part to be shipped. Only Xpresspost (with tracking number and $100 insurance) is available for delivery of this piece of jewelry given the dimensions of the piece.

*Please note that once the package is dropped off at the post office, Canada Post will be responsible for the package until it is delivered to the address provided. No refunds will be accepted on a lost package when you choose the stamped option.

Each step is carried out slowly and meticulously, from creation to manufacturing, including quality control and packaging. All this attention to the pieces is certainly what makes the jewelry made at the workshop unique and high quality.
